Eternity – The Symbol of Everlasting Love

Looking for that special something to commemorate a significant occasion or life event?

Eternity rings are often worn to symbolise important moments in life, as a way to remember and share with those you love.

Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, birthday, or the birth of a child, an Eternity ring epitomises the fundamental idea of true love; that it is without end, everlasting and eternal. The endless loop of an eternity ring, with no beginning and no end symbolises eternal commitment, devotion and love.

Believe it or not Eternity rings were invented by ancient Egyptians. The Egyptians believed the circle was a powerful symbol of eternity. Archaeologists have uncovered both simple eternity rings made from beads as well as more elaborate eternity rings made from precious metals and stones, similar to what we wear today!

It’s not difficult to find a reason to indulge the person you love, and at Mazzucchelli’s we take the guess work out of giving! You’ll find the perfect fit in our Eternity Collection. Click here to view our extensive range of beautiful Eternity rings or visit us in-store and let one of our experienced staff assist you with connecting to your ring and special moment.

Which diamond shape reflects your personal style?

This is not just an article for all you ladies out there wondering which diamond shape (cut) reflects your personal style, but also a critical read for all the men out there trying to understand what cut to select for the girl of their dreams and that ring.

When choosing a diamond whether it be for a dress ring or your engagement ring you want it to reflect your own personal style, whether that is classic, modern or something unique to you. Below are some of the most popular cuts and which style they traditionally represent.

Round Brilliant Cut Diamond – this is the most popular diamond shape, representing approximately 75% of all diamonds sold. Due to the mechanics of its shape, the Round Brilliant Cut is generally superior to fancy shapes in reflecting light, maximising potential brightness. This Cut appeals to those that are traditionally classic and elegant, with a sentimental quality.

Princess Cut Diamond – first created in 1980, this is the most popular ‘fancy’ diamond shape, particularly chosen for engagement rings because of it’s combination of sparkle and modern shape. Like Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds, Princess Cut Diamonds are a good choice for their flexibility in working with almost any style of ring. This cut appeals to a more modern person with an adventurous spirit.

Emerald Cut Diamond – this beautiful cut is inspired by the gemstone of the same name. An elongated shape that emphasises clarity. The Emerald Cut is a good choice for those who think that sparkle isn’t necessarily the only quality to look for in a diamond. This Cut appeals to those with a strong and bold personality.

Cushion Cut Diamond – recently brought to fame for its appearance in the movie the Great Gatsby as Daisy’s engagement ring, this shape is reminiscent of the 1920’s classic style. The Cushion Cut represents a woman with vintage flair who is looking for a more antique style.

Marquise Cut Diamond – this may appeal to those who want a larger-looking engagement ring. Its elongated shape gives the illusion of lengthening the ring finger. This Cut also appeals to a modern woman, who likes to think of herself as different and unique.

The Jewellery Industry’s Premier Event

JCK Las Vegas - 3,000 suppliers, 30,000 products

Our Buying Team has just returned from Las Vegas and the amazing JCK Jewellery Fair.

This is a must see event on the jewellery industry calendar. Each year, they travel to the fair to understand global fashion and jewellery trends with a view to implementing premium, design-forward diamond collections for our customers.

This year's trends in fashion jewellery included the use of geometric shapes, ear cuffs, climbers and jackets, stackable jewellery, rings and bangles as well as micro pendants and earrings.

There were new twists on the personalisation of jewellery – for example, pendants engraved and set with a diamond to mark significant locations in a person’s life. There were also pieces of jewellery containing NFC chips to hold personalised images and sounds, and pendant frames with a clear front and back that can be opened to have tiny charms added.

Fresh designs in diamond anniversary bands, right hand rings and celebration rings looked absolutely stunning. Pink gold bands and accented designs were also very popular.

Forevermark by De Beers, one of our elite diamond brands, unveiled their new brand positioning ‘Diamonds are Forever’ with a stunning stand and lots of exciting new designs.

Keep an eye out online and in-store as new pieces start to arrive very soon!

Below is a brief video wrap up of the event.

TAG Heuer @ Cannes Festival

Cannes, France - It was only legitimate and natural for TAG Heuer to be present at the side of Chad McQueen, son of Steve McQueen, and the whole team behind “Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans,” for the film’s grand premiere screening on the famed Croisette in Cannes.

As the documentary traces Steve McQueen’s passion for automotive racing with images from his now legendary movie ‘Le Mans’ and unpublished archive footage made available by his son Chad, we rediscover Steve McQueen in his Heuer racing jumpsuit and on his wrist the famous Monaco, the square-shaped automatic chronograph that had just been launched back then and has since become an icon of the brand.

As the story goes, when filming began in 1970, Steve McQueen insisted on wearing the same racing jumpsuit as race car champion Jo Siffert, a friend of Jack Heuer who at the time was consulting on the movie. At the time, Jo Siffert was the Ambassador of the Heuer watch company. This kind of endorsement was a new concept in the industry then – an inkling of the ‘Avant-Garde’ in the logo of today’s TAG Heuer.

Pearls, The June Birthstone

This month we’re celebrating the beginning of Winter, and if you’re celebrating a June birthday you’re lucky enough to have the Pearl as your birthstone. Pearls have been widely popular in jewellery for centuries because of their natural beauty.

Not just for Grandma, pearls are a great addition to any outfit for any occasion. There are many varieties of pearls available, including Freshwater, Tahitian and Broome South Sea.

Pearls are said to signify faithfulness, friendship and loyalty; and considered a symbol of purity. The natural lustre and translucence of pearls make them one of the most luxurious and favoured gems.

Did you know that pearls are available in a variety of colours? Keep it classic with white or shake it up with shades of black or gold.
